Best Recurring Affiliate Programs
This article about how to choose the best recurring affiliate programs and less about actual programs themsleves, although I will give a brief overview of a couple that I have been involved with. When you know what to look for you can make a better determination as to which one to choose and why. Most websites that review products and services such as these only do so through motivations of commissions. It's doubtful that many of the reviewers ever signed up for the products and the services that they reviewed.
Affiliate programs are a great way for the average Joe (like me) to earn an income online. But affiliate programs that are recurring boost the power of this concept by a wide margin. This is because once you have a customer, they pay on a regular basis.
Affiliate Programs 101
For those that are not familiar with affiliate programs, it works like this. Suppose a vendor like Walmart or BestBuy want to increase their sales but not have to spend more on advertising to do so. They offer what's known as an affiliate program. If you decide to take them up on this offer (usually free to join) you can earn commissions on products and services that you refer to them through your website.
They will give you access to a host of banners and links and these are all encoded with your affiliate link. That's how they know the traffic came from your website. Often, third party companies will act as the middle man between you and the vendor as there is some technology concepts involved that the vendor probably doesn't want to worry about.
So How Do Vendors Save Money?
Simple. You are now the one that is responsible for getting traffic to your website. If you are successful at that, the vendor paid no money in advertising to get the sale. And it's a win-win situation in that the vendor is happy that they got a no advertising sale and you are happy that you are able to sell products from large scale vendors without having to worry about shopping carts, payment processors and the like.
You will have to either spend money on advertising or build up your website organically in order to get enough visitors to your site to make it economically feasible. But this is something that is an economy of scale. As your website gets more authority you won't have to spend as much to get people to your website.
The Magic of Recurring Affiliate Commissions
Just as the title suggests recurring affiliate commissions are those that occur on a frequent basis, like month-to-month, quarter-to-quarter, and year-to-year, etc. What makes these so wonderful is that it took the same amount of advertising dollars to get them to your website as the one off type of affiliate program. That means that for as long as that customer remains active, you will get a commission. It becomes a passive income stream.
Are There Challenges With Recurring Affiliate Revenue Streams?
Perhaps the biggest challenge will be that they are more difficult (all things being equal) to convince people to agree to pay monthly fees. The program or service you are recommending has got to be superior for people to stick with the program over the long haul. And the higher the fee the better the program has to be.
Examples of Recurring Income Affiliate Programs
The most popular types of recurring income programs are membership programs. Training sites that offer constantly updated training often use this business model. Shopping clubs are another example of how this type of situation could thrive. As long as the perceived value of these memberships is high, people won't have a problem paying.
I want to state that I am a member of both of these and have made recurring income. The potential is there is you are willing to put the work in and follow the training. Both of these programs are actually owned and operated by the same people but they work and can help you. Best of all, both programs are free to join and you are not required (and not pressured) to ever upgrade to the premium memberships of each.
Another great advantage is that you still can earn recurring commissions even if you are not a premium member, something that is very unique to programs of this type.
Here are links to information about these programs:
Jaaxy Keyword Tool - You can use this link and actually try out Jaaxy (which you really should do) and see what kind of power it can give you for keyword research. The name is rather funny but there's nothing to laugh about what this tool can deliver. It also offers a recurring commission.
Wealthy Affiliate University - if you have been looking to get an online business set up and create the proper components for it to start potentially earning you recurring commissions, then you need to learn more about this program. The point is, you don't even need a credit card to sign up. So why would you not at least sign up and start following the training? Besides, anyone that I refer, I constantly watch over them and ask them if they need extra help from me. I have been an extremely satisfied member of this program since January 2009.
