What Happened To Bankquest?
For those not familiar, BankQuest.org is a website that paid you to perform certain online activities, like view videos or advertising. The payouts were pretty good so you can imagine my shock when I tried to log into my BankQuest account and found the screen that you see to the right.
Perhaps it's just an oversight and it will be up and running again soon when the owner gets around to renewing the website. Only time will tell.
So obviously, if you see any information about joining BankQuest at this point in time it is going to be very difficult to do. If you are thinking about grabbing the site, you'll have to wait a bit. Domain registration companies usually give domain owners a grace period before they are completely expired. And you can be sure they'll be plenty of people trying to go for it.
Also, if you happen to come across my previous post about signing up for BankQuest, the links contained in that post obviously won't work for you. I am keeping them active for a little while, just in case it was a mistake and the site comes back intact in the future.
It just goes to show you how quickly things can change in the online arena. Luckily, I didn't build up too much money and didn't gain that much of a following yet. But it was starting to gain some traction so this could have been a consistent money maker for me. It reinforces the old adage of not putting all your eggs in one basket!
I Feel For the Top Dogs!
The people I feel bad for are the ones that were making good money on BankQuest. Imagine building up to the point where you are making hundreds of dollars a month and that income stream dries up instantaneously. For those that may be wondering if programs like that can make you money, on your own you won't make much. But when you refer thousands of active members, that is when it starts to really pay off. Of course, until the site goes defunct.
This also wakes me up to the fact that I have built up some pretty decent sums in other of these types of programs and maybe it's time for me to take a payout on those before anything happens to them. I'm not necessarily expecting that but you have to keep your options open to any possibility. Going forward, you should probably set the threshold on payment lower when possible and take those payments more frequently.
I will update you if I hear any developments and will snoop around the cyber world to see if there are any rumblings (I'll be surprised if there weren't). I will update you in a comment below and perhaps even write another post about it if i get enough buzz about the situation.
Ciao!
